Translation, neuroscience and cognition

This chapter offers a succinct yet comprehensive survey of neurocognitive research on translation and interpreting. First, the field is introduced against the backbone of Translation Studies at large. Second, an overview is presented of the main methods, topics, findings and theoretical models populating the extant literature. Finally, this scholarly arena is critically analysed in terms of its immediate challenges and prospects for development, considering both methodological and institutional dimensions.
