Abstract
Mathematical models of most physical systems such as systems of telecommunication, reactors of chemicals, and lines of transmission have elevated orders. The sophistication of models causes many problems such as the problem of analysis, simulation, and controller design. Reducing the rank will reduce such problems. In recent years, many order reduction approaches have been offered to estimate high-order linear dynamic systems. However, most of the methods have disadvantages such as high complexity, time-consuming, and even unstable results for inherently stable systems. The basis of this section of the book is the reduction of order based on the combination of system deficit estimation using the optimization algorithm. In this method, an approach has been presented for decreasing the order of systems, according to the combination of the swarm estimator with the improved firefly algorithm. For this purpose, a suitable constant structure is regarded for the decreasing order model. Then, using the desired algorithm, by minimizing a fitting function, the parameters of the decreased order model will be specified at the same time. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG. 2023.
